Meet the Chef
I was born in St. Paul, MN and grew up in the northern suburbs. The Midwest was a great place to grow up and learn about healthy, nutritious food. I started cooking at the age of 12, to help out both working parents. I am the eldest daughter of 4 children, and took great pride in being able to not only help out my tired parents but also to make dishes my younger brother and sister would not complain about…a common problem among younger picky eaters.
My Mother is from Australia and enjoys cooking and passing family traditions to her daughters. My Father is an avid hunter and fisherman and loves to experiment with different type of cuisine. As a family, we spent most of the summer in northern Minnesota at our lake cabin. Freshly caught fish and just picked morel mushrooms were a treat the entire family looked forward to devouring! “My parents loved trying out different types of cuisines. We would enjoy a typical Midwestern casserole one night and Curried Chicken with apples and raisins the next. Quite exotic for 1960’s Minnesota!”
I enjoy cooking all types of cuisine. I specialize in family style dinners that remind us of our family table as children. The dinner hour was something we looked forward to, not only to share good food, but also each others company at the end of a long day.
Enjoying the food from other countries is important. When my son, Matthew was little the family would enjoy themed dinners to learn about different countries and their food traditions. Introducing a variety of foods to children is important to their health and well-being.
I am a proud member of the American Personal Chef Association. I am also certified under the SERV SAFE program. A program developed by the National Restaurant Association to train food service personnel about general food safety principles. In addition, I am fully licensed and carry liability insurance.
